PLEASE READ: Integration Best Practices

  • If you copied a previous Canvas course, make sure you have removed all MBC assignment links in your new Canvas course before integrating.
  • Any assignment setting changes (number of attempts, open/close dates, etc.) should be made in myBusinessCourse, as these will carry over to Canvas.
  • Any gradebook setting changes (weights, dropping, etc.) should be made in Canvas.
  • Embedding an assignment more than once will create duplicate grade items.
  • If you encounter any date sync issues, please follow the steps below:
    Select Manage Sections on your instructor dashboard > Integration Status > Resend Due Dates

  1. In Course Navigation, click the Assignments link.
  2. Click the Add Assignment button.
  3. In the Submission Type drop-down menu, select the External Tool option.
  4. Click the Find button. 
  5. Find the myBusinessCourse Assignment Selection External Tool
  6. A modal appears and myBusinessCourse will load
  7. Once myBusinessCourse loads, select a course
  8. You will be prompted to select a section and confirm the integration. If all the information looks correct click the Yes, Integrate Now button
  9. You will be redirected to a Content Selection page which will contain all your myBusinessCourse chapter/modules assignments.
  10. Select the assignment you would like to embed
  11. Scroll down and select Embed Content
  12. Click the Select button
  13. If you want the assignment to load in a new tab, click the Load in a new tab checkbox.
  14. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save and Publish or Save. 
  15. You can repeat this process to embed content as often as you’d like.

    • Resources are embedded in a more user-friendly way.  
    • The name of the assignment and its point values will automatically carry over.
