You may want to provide students with some additional information (ex: formulas or a cheat sheet) during a quiz/exam that uses our preset Quiz/Exam template (resources like eBook/Videos are not available). You can do so with a custom Description question.
Create a Custom Description Question
- From within the course, click Course Settings on the left menu.
- Select My Custom Questions.
- Click Create a new question.
If there's a message saying you do not have the permissions to add custom questions, then click the button below.
New Support Ticket - Select Description from the list (see image below). The option should be located at the bottom.
Click Add. - Enter the Question Name (what you will see in the My Custom Questions question bank).
- Enter the Question Display Name (what students will see if settings allow).
Type in desired information in the Question Text field.
If needed, use the icons to add a Link, Image, File, etc.
Click Save Changes (bottom of page).
To add it to the assignment, select My Custom Questions from the Question Bank filter when building the assignment and select / Add question.
NOTE: If you are using the Shuffle feature, the question will appear in a different location for each student.
The question can be identified at the top of the page using the "Card" icons.
The description question will show and i rather than a numeral.
