You may want to provide students with some additional information (ex: formulas or a cheat sheet) during a quiz/exam that uses our preset Quiz/Exam template (resources like eBook/Videos are not available). You can do so with a custom Description question.

Create a Custom Description Question

  1. From within the course, click Course Settings on the left menu.

  2. Select My Custom Questions.

  3. Click Create a new question.

If there's a message saying you do not have the permissions to add custom questions, then click the button below.
    New Support Ticket

  4. Select Description from the list (see image below). The option should be located at the bottom.
    Click Add.

  5. Enter the Question Name (what you will see in the My Custom Questions question bank).

  6. Enter the Question Display Name (what students will see if settings allow).

  7. Type in desired information in the Question Text field.

  8. If needed, use the icons to add a Link, Image, File, etc.

  9. Click Save Changes (bottom of page).

  10. To add it to the assignment, select My Custom Questions from the Question Bank filter when building the assignment and select / Add question.

NOTE:  If you are using the Shuffle feature, the question will appear in a different location for each student.

The question can be identified at the top of the page using the "Card" icons.

The description question will show and rather than a numeral.
